Yes I know it has been some time since I have posted a blog entry. The pain and suffering this has caused I can only imagine has been unbearable. Many of you must be feeling the nauseating withdrawal like symptoms of not enough me, but do not fear you will no longer need to remain in a fetal position rocking back and forth wondering if I will blog again – I shall.
I admit that the “Beyond the Perimeter” podcast series has consumed some of my attention (you should listen to these, seriously they are fantastic) and we have secured some great guests and have a backlog that will deliver that crack-like high you look for in a cutting edge podcast series. Of course there is my life as CTO of BigFix and we have been busy delivering the vision of converged systems and security management delivered through a single unified management platform to market, including announcements with both IBM and Trend Micro licensing the BigFix technology. Twitter has become quite distracting, it is only a matter of time before our entire lives will be fulfilled in 140 character sound bytes. Also in a couple of weeks there will be a rather exciting (at least to me) announcement about some regular guest blogging I will be doing for one of the media outlets many of you are familiar with. But none of this excuses me not keeping in touch with all of you so you should expect more.
Ironically the sheer volume of information I try to digest has increased dramatically over the last 2 years but the quality and variability of the content has decreased, so even though we went from about 8 people who would have blogged on zotob we have like 8,000+ in the US alone who blogged on Conficker, however there was probably only a handful that combined solid analysis, actionable intelligence, and happened to be well-written and humorous all at the same time. This blog was one of them, at least my Mom thought so (here) hopefully you did as well.
