Moving on and changing jerseys

Few things in technology, or life for that matter, are static. We live in a highly charged, extremely dynamic period, and it is exciting to be a part of it.

I have truly enjoyed my time as a Gartner analyst working with some of the brightest and most eclectic folks in the industry, but life is about progression and I have accepted the position of CTO at BigFix. The architecture and technology that we have at Bigfix, the scalability that is offered, coupled with the changes in the industry, which I have talked about (here) , (here), and (here), made it clear that this is a great opportunity and one I could not pass up.

There are challenges and risks, as there are with anything worth pursuing, but after performing due diligence it became obvious that these challenges will be overcome. I am honored to be a member of this team, and I have no doubt that 2007 is going to be a very exciting year for us as we move forward to address the changing nature of IT.

I plan to maintain this as my personal blog and continue posting on a fairly regular basis, which I have truly enjoyed.

  1. Congrats on the move Amrit. Feel free to reach out anytime you get the DT’s from withdrawal. Waking up with the sweats because you have not been on a call or been in front of an audience for four weeks is the worst. πŸ™‚

  2. Congratulations to you as well – nice spot to land and a good fit for you. I came from vendor land so I am used to the ebb and flow, but I sure am going to miss working from home πŸ™‚
